Mainframe Professional Question
I am a student at University and have been asked to contact someone who works in a large business(such as a Financial Institution/bank, corporate business, telecommunications company, Airlines etc.) working with mainframes could answer these basic questions:

1.List a combination of at least 10 (ten) transactions, routine or ad-hoc tasks and working with applications of what your business/company’s typical workload includes.(very basic things)
2. Write how these tasks are addressed in what methods/ways such as utilities to manage/manipulate data sets, using JCL, using CLIST and REXX etc.
Also why this methods suits and why this method is best suited in terms of response time, speed, ease of use etc.

Any answers would be great!

RE:Mainframe Professional Question
KristyG ... as a recent joiner ... I'm guessing this question is more than moot by now. As an IBMer ... I work with lots of folks who meet #1, but I do not.

As for #2 (assuming you're still out there) ... I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking what languages/environments/code get invoked in handling the items in #1 ... or you asking about what tools are used to do the functions mentioned in #2?
