IBM and Twitter Partnership
Twitter and IBM announced a partnership that brings together Twitter data that distinctively represents the public pulse of the planet with IBM’s industry-leading cloud-based analytics, customer engagement platforms and consulting services.

The collaboration will focus on three areas: Integration of Twitter data with IBM analytics services on the cloud, new data-intensive capabilities for the enterprise and specialized enterprise consulting. Read the news release here.

RE:IBM and Twitter Partnership
Since the partnership was announced, IBM and Twitter are now combining resources in analyzing social media in select cities to drive better policy decisions. IBM names 16 municipalities as IBM Smarter Cities Challenge grant winners, using the social media data to help.

Smarter Cities Challenge program will be sending teams of company experts to 16 municipalities around the world through 2016 to help cities with critical issues ranging from jobs creation, transportation, and public safety, to healthcare, revenue, social services and public works.
