Master the Mainframe 2013: Winners
The 2013 IBM Master the Mainframe results are in. Last fall, IBM opened its ninth annual Master the Mainframe contest for college and university students across the U.S. and Canada, drawing 5,601 students to compete in three levels of competition. Winners can win trips, tablet computers, Master the Mainframe swag and more.

The winners of Part 3 of the 2013 IBM Master the Mainframe contest are:
1st place: Mugdha Kadam, University of South Florida
2nd place: Elton Cheng, University of California, San Diego
3rd place: Rudolfs Dambis, University of Nevada, Las Vegas
4th place: Yoga Arnindita, Syracuse University
5th place: Mark Abermoske, Northern Illinois University

IBM has announced some exciting things regarding Master the Mainframe! Not only is the contest being expanded, there will be an IBM Master the Mainframe World Championship!

Students from over 20 countries around the globe will compete in a series of challenges at this invitational event, which culminates on April 7, 2014 at IBM in New York City. Read more about it in IBM Systems Magazine's article, "Uber-Competition."
