Time Is Short to Register for the First Dz Webinar

Response to the first Destination z webinar (presented in conjunction with IBM Systems Magazine) has been outstanding—with more than 500 people registered already. And there's still time to sign up for this online event scheduled at 11 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, June 5.

Titled “IBM Experts Answer Questions About the Modern Mainframe,”  the webinar will feature Bryan Foley, program director, IBM System z Stack Portfolio Management, and Innes Read, enterprise architect, Strategy, TCO, IBM Software Group.

The webin was developed based on input from the mainframe community. In February, Destination z sought mainframers’ input on what questions they’d like to ask IBM about the platform. After dozens of submissions on the Destination z Forum and via email, some clear patterns emerged.

For example, many asked about the future of the mainframe in IT trends like mobile, cloud computing and Linux. Others had questions about the TCA and TCO of System z compared to other server platforms.

To help answer these questions, we sought IBM expertise. In addition to Foley and Read, other key IBM experts stepped up to answer technical questions in the forum itself. Likewise, the Destination z editorial team is working to develop articles and blog posts to address topics that couldn’t be covered in a 60-minute webinar.

To register for that webinar, check out the IBM Systems Magazine Event Center. For those who can't make the date, a recording of the event will be available through the Event Center about a week after the June 5 initial broadcast.
